String Immersion Workshop
In 2023 I created and instructed the Strings Immersion Workshop (SIW) for the music teachers from the Mandalay community.
The String Immersion Workshop (SIW) is designed for any music teacher from any background (strings, band, choral, piano or general music) as well as teachers of other disciplines with background in strings.
You will learn the basic and fundamentals of teaching the four bowed string instruments (violin, viola, cello and bass) in an orchestra set up. The classes are all designed so participants learn to effectively teach beginning string classes and implement a string orchestra program at an educational institution. Participants are encouraged to bring their own Instruments. However, there will be some instruments available for use. The aim of the workshop is to work in a collaborative manner in a shared, open, non-intimidating environment.

Mandalay Community Orchestra
In 2023 I founded and led the Mandalay Community Orchestra which was formed by teachers and students from the city of Mandalay, Myanmar.
Strings in Action
In 2015 I founded a project named Strings in Action (SiA). The goal of SiA is to offer underprivileged children from Jakarta the opportunity to learn music through string instruments. After years of hard work, we have been able to set up three orchestras at two orphanages. Currently there are 73 children joining our program and we have six children from the orphanages attending music instruction on scholarships at one of the music academies here in Jakarta. Due to its success SiA became a non profit organization in 2019. I have been very actively involved with this project that is modeled from El Sistema in Venezuela.
The Nomads
In 2013 I met Alif Basayurdin, an Indonesian flamenco guitarist. Together we created “The Nomads”, a Gipsy Jazz and Flamenco fusion band that performed gigs regularly mostly in Jakarta, but also traveled to other countries, playing in Hanoi, Bangkok and Tokyo.
Xiangshan Orchestra
I founded this orchestra in 2006 which was formed by the youth members of the Xianshan district of Hsinchu city, in Taiwan. One of the interesting aspects of this orchestra is that it is aimed to perform for people in need. We performed in hospitals, retirement homes and even a prison.
Paparazzi
From 2006 to 2008 I had the privilege of collaborating with Paparazzi, a rock progressive music band located in Hsinchu, Taiwan.
